How to Edit a PDF Online

Need to fix a typo in a PDF, update a date, insert an image, draw an arrow pointing to something, or add text that was missing? OneClickPDF's editor lets you click the PDF's own text and retype it, and add text, images, shapes, and annotations on any page — without installing any software or uploading the file.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Open the Edit PDF tool

Navigate to the Edit PDF page on OneClickPDF.
  2. Upload your PDF

Drop the file onto the upload zone. It opens in a full-page editor with a toolbar; if the PDF is password-protected, enter the password. The first time, the editor downloads its PDF engine from this site.
  3. Make your edits

Click any text and type to change it — the original font is kept wherever it has the letters you type, and the paragraph re-wraps. Use find and replace for repeated changes. Add text boxes, images, tables, rectangles, ellipses, lines, arrows, links, or a signature, and highlight, underline, or strike through text. Customize fonts, sizes, colours, and line width.
  4. Download the edited PDF

Click Download to save your edited document. All changes are written into the PDF itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I edit existing text in the PDF?
Yes. Click any text and type. The editor keeps the document's own font wherever it has the letters you type (other letters use a close fallback font), keeps the spacing, and re-wraps the paragraph; lines below make room. Text in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or right-to-left scripts can't be edited yet, and scanned pages are pictures with no text to edit.
What can I add to the PDF?
Text boxes (with font, size, and colour options), images (PNG, JPG), tables, rectangles, ellipses, lines, arrows, whiteout, links, signatures or initials, highlights, underlines, strike-throughs, and freehand drawing. Each element can be moved, resized, and styled.
Can I edit multiple pages?
Yes. Scroll through the document and edit any page; each page can have its own changes. Find and replace works across every page, and the page tools rotate, move, insert, or delete pages.
Are the edits permanent?
Yes. When you download, your changes are written into the PDF and become part of the page content. Whiteout covers content but does not erase what is underneath — use Redact PDF to remove sensitive information.

Quick PDF edits — fixing a typo, updating a date, inserting a logo, highlighting key passages, or annotating a review — shouldn't require expensive software. Do it all in your browser for free.
